It only takes one good party to fall in love with music. For Landis, the local parties in his native Miami, Florida allowed him to fall in love with the craft of DJing at a young thirteen. Fine-tuning his sound for years, and borrowing from the likes of Galantis, Porter Robinson, and Axwell, Landis landed on a style that bridged arena madness with crisp melodies and dance-heavy rhythms.
"Top Of The World" is Landis in top form. Here we have an eccentric anthem meant to move thousands, but with enough attention to detail to steal your heart if you're bumping the track alone in headphones. Producing an anthem that doesn't sound contrived is near-impossible, but Landis circumvents this issue by letting the bright and tweaked flourishes build the emotion and momentum on the track. "Top Of The World" skillfully navigates lush synth swells and thoughtful piano chords, making it as dynamic as it is feel-good. If you walk away with a single impression of Landis following this single, it's that he's "been doing just fine."
Of the track, Landis tells us: "After a year of work, two trips to Nashville, and one studio session in Miami we finally decided 'Top Of The World' was ready. The track contains samples of trumpets, guitars, and a piece of my soul. Hope everyone can hear the blood sweat and good vibes that went into making this record."
