A*Teens returns 22 years later with single "Iconic"

After a more than 20-year hiatus, the Swedish pop group A*Teens returns with an electronic dance song called “Iconic” that will have you jumping and dancing at the house party, the club, or, if you were a teen in the early ‘2000s, possibly reminiscing on fun times.

Famous in the early ‘2000s for ABBA covers and their iconic hits, including “Floorfiller” and “Upside Down”, the four-member group, who are no longer teens and full-grown adults and some with families, consist of Marie Serneholt, Amit Paul, Dhani Lennevald, and Sara Lumholdt. The group makes sure to bring their iconic pop style and beats with a modern twist for the newer generations to vibe and relive that early ‘2000s feel that the new teens crave.

With a similar intro vocal mix to their hit “Floorfiler” and EDM-like beats, the track “Iconic” starts to prepare the listener to dance the night away and feel the magnetic chemistry of the environment or the people around you with lyrics, “And there’s a fire burning deep in my veins. Pulling me closer like a moth to a flame. It’s so magnetic when you’re next to me. Feel the ground is shaking, we’re ready to go. Feel our bodies losing control."

As the song continues, you feel the rush and adrenaline of the beat and gain the energy that makes you want to dance without stopping and raise your hands. The chorus continues with lyrics, “We’re gonna reach for the starlight. Dance the night away, make it iconic. We ain't gonna stop 'til the sunrise, make it iconic.”

The track has a similar vibe to American pop star Britney Spears’ 2011 hit, “Till The World Ends," and beats similar to those of electronic dance group Swedish House Mafia. Let’s see where this new era of A*Teens takes them.
