Coated in viscous layers of melancholy and dripping with influence from the likes of Bon Iver, the music of Odina has a lighthearted quality despite the depths it's pulled from. Today, she's releasing the titular track from her upcoming EP Nothing Makes Sense, a follow-up to 2016's Broken. Listen to "Nothing Makes Sense" here first.
Featuring a minimal arrangement outside of a strummed guitar and innocence-tinged vocals, "Nothing Makes Sense" hits deep emotionally. "This song is about feeling confused, about overthinking life, death, and everything else," says Odina. "It tries to look at some questions to which there are no answers, while at the same time arriving at the realization that there will never be an answer to them, and coming to accept that." It's a song that explores emotional vulnerability in a genuine way and is an excellent introspective kickoff to your weekend.
Nothing Makes Sense is expected to be released later this year.
