Honestly, Star Wars and trap music are two of my absolute favorite things on the planet. So when an deliciously ominous yet high energy trap cut entitled "Kylo" crossed my path, I was stoked. Versatile producer Conrad Clifton brings the heat on the slick and cerebral composition, premiering today with EARMILK. Biting percussion keeps you grooving, despite the gloomy low end. It's total Kylo Ren vibes, and as the track's description reads – "'Kylo' (short for Kylo Ren) could easily be theme music for Star Wars' march of the First Order."
Conrad Clifton's prior release, the also amazingly titled “Kneel Da Grass / Tight Son" is an ethereal tech house offering, and the contrast between the two tracks is notable. However both songs retain the cinematic quality which hallmarks Clifton's work. My interest is piqued, and I look forward to checking out Clifton’s forthcoming TIME EP, due early this year.
D.C. area folks can catch Conrad Clifton live on 2/21 supporting StéLouse.
