The multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and Prince enthusiast seeks to explore both the limitations and the liberations of masculinity. "We All Got Issues" itself is like a hush, with vocals that blend in both the subtle and the insistent as James tells his story (along with everyone else's).
In his own words, "We All Got Issues' is my life story in a song. It's clear that my life is very different to yours. No one goes through the same set of events and gets to the same place as each other. But we all have our hardships along the way. The hardships themselves are different, but we all have them. For me, love is the one thing that has consistently contributed to the highest highs and the lowest lows, and I know that most people can agree they feel the same way."
