The Nigerian reggae-dancehall artist teams up with U.K. act J Hus on this latest jam. The Caribbean tinged "Sekkle Down" (produced by Jae5) has the mid-tempo, minimalistic vibe that is currently catching fire. In usual fashion Burna Boy comes through with his unique brand of dancehall performance that has made him a star in Nigeria and beyond. He definitely knows his roots and doesn't hide it. J Hus's assist on the second verse is pure J Hus in his usual laissez faire performance and descriptive lyrics.
Influenced at a very young age by his father's dancehall and reggae records, the Port Harcourt city-born act has been steadily riding the wave of his unique brand of dancehall-influenced afrocentric music, a blend which he calls afrofusion. Fully formed as an artist who doesn't confirm to industry rules, Burna has taken strides to birth a sound that represents Nigeria, and more broadly, Africa. A little fun fact: He was recently featured on Drake's project More Life on the track titled "Get It Together" ft. Jorja Smith.
