Up and coming future R&B act Sobae just released the video for her debut single "Switch Up" with a touch of flash and flair. After dropping "hotline23" – an acoustic mash up of songs by Stwo, Ciara, Kehlani and Drake – got her some notice, she proceeded to crafting the aforementioned single which as the title says shows her taking initiative steps within a relationship with pure assertiveness.
Armed with a sultry yet angelic vocal performance over an atmospheric trap influenced soulful back drop, Sobae assures her unknown significant other that she is literally switching things up in every sense of the word. The contrast between her signature silky, seemingly effortless vocals and witty, attitude-filled lyrics are but one of the alluring aspects of "Switch Up."
One of the first female Korean-American singer-songwriters in the genre. Sobae has an unconventional and colorful background leading up to her music career. Aiming to shake up the future R&B scene, she hopes to lead on what she calls an "Asian American cultural movement".
