Matt Cutler, UK electronic and house wizard Lone is back with a single "Arc", hot on the heels of his recently released DJ Kicks installment via !K7 Music. "Arc" is a part of a three song EP that is anchored by A -side "Saturday Night", the lone (pun intended) original tune Cutler released as a part of his DJ Kicks album. Bringing up the rear on the EP will be an ambient mix of one of Cutler's more kinetic tracks, "Alpha Wheel", which lead off his short but sweet recent album, last year's breakbeat and rave-inspired Levitate.
With "Arc", we get another slice of lo-fi house in line with Lone's recent output under his two previous Ambivert Tools EPs on R&S Records. As such, it's a longer form track that takes its time unfolding and developing, starting simply with a standard yet crunchy house beat before adding some trilling flute touches and blossoming into some beautiful chords (are there any other kind in a Lone song?) around the 1:45 mark. While the energy doesn't ever overwhelm, it's still another solid addition into the Lone canon.
Preorder the Saturday Night EP here, out November 10th.
