Drift away with Alex Mali's latest release single "Livin"

With her latest release, Alex Mali cements herself in the New York scene as an artist to watch. Feast your ears on her smooth and smoked out cut, “Livin.”

Produced by KDVG, “Livin” sees Mali letting off steam. The track, which Mali freestyled, has a much looser and more improvisational tone than her other releases. Likewise, it’s less intense than her most recent rack, “Facts Only,” which proves Mali has serious range. While “Facts Only” showed off Mali’s ferocity, “Livin” showcases Mali’s ability to flow over a track with ease. Her hair may be green, but this track sounds purple.

Aside from showcasing her range as a singer, “Livin” also shows Mali knows how to pick a producer. Scroll through Mali’s SoundCloud, and you’ll see she’s sung over beats produced by likes of PLVYHAUS, Monte Booker, Kirk Knight and Metro Boomin to name a few. Each one of the producers above has their own style, and yet, Mali handles her own on every track. To have such malleability this early in her career speaks volumes of the Brooklyn native, only making her ascent that much more exciting to watch. With the KDVG produced “Livin,” she’s adding yet another sound to her resume and one more reason to watch her rise.

Press play on “Livin” above and be sure to stay locked right here on EARMILK for all things Alex Mali.
