One of the freshest voices in electronic composition hails from Curitiba, Brazil, and goes by the name of Marcioz. Officially brought into the bitbird family with his soaring remix of San Holo's "The Future" last month, the producer is back with the ambitious "Ayre for Rejection" ft. Slow Shudder on the Gouldian Finch 02 compilation. A quick flip through the artist's SoundCloud shows an elevated taste and eclectic style, as exhibited by his previous NEST HQ premiere "$mall Bedroom Orchestra" (points for self-deprecating title). The perennial tastemakers at bitbird hit the mark on this one – Marcioz feels like a natural fit for the emotionally curious and boundary-pushing label.

With every subsequent bitbird release, I feel like I'm learning new ways to feel. "Ayre for Rejection" has the earnest, lo-fi soul of an indie rock breakup song, careening straight into a heavy, saw-laden drop. The tenderness of Slow Shudder's lovely vocals intertwine with the grit of the bass, emerging as a totally fresh experience.
