Is there such a dynamic place in the world that multiple annual compilation releases aren't enough to tell its musical story? Sorry to ask the rhetorical question because, well, the answer is yes, such a place does exist, and it's the island of Ibiza. Each year, tech house label Toolroom Records releases multiple compilations around Ibiza season, and we are about to get their second delivery. Featuring a whopping 68 tracks, Toolroom Ibiza 2017 Vol. 2 spotlights some of the label's stars, including our first listen today, Eli Brown.
Last we heard from the Bristol-based producer, he was delivering more infectious underground originals in "Tech It Out." This time, he joins Toolroom in what feels like too perfect of a fit for their Ibiza compilation and the release of "Get Down." This one, plain and simple, does what tech house does best, taking a hip hop or disco sample and morphing it into peaktime tech groove. Check it out above ahead of its release.
