Massachusetts sextet Abadabad are finally on the verge of releasing their debut album, Touch The Feel, on August 4th. It comes almost 6 years after the project's impetus as a solo bedroom pop project spearheaded by vocalist Jeremy Lee Given. His early singles like "Park Slope (I'm Sorry)" caught the ears of bloggers thanks to catchy hooks, jangly guitar tones, and honest songwriting. All this time later, the act has expanded, but the band's sound remains mostly intact. With "Feeling's Gone", the group never loses sight of a great melody, while exploring warmer sounds and even adding a sax solo within the song's scant 2:12 runtime. Fans of Real Estate and Twin Peaks will certainly find something to love here.
The accompanying video is a good visual complement to the organic instrumentation, with the members wandering around a Rhode Island farm intercut with a pretty chill-looking live gig. Warm, charming, and inviting, "Feeling's Gone" is a hot cup of tea on a brisk Fall day: something to make your day a little bit better.
