With every release, self-dubbed soul-singer K.Raydio grows harder to ignore in the R&B scene for her effortless cool and sugar sweet vocals. The Minneapolis artist gets in touch with her romantic side on her newest release "Crash," enlisting frequent collaborator jaylap and new recruit Dream Entact for the tune's dreamy production.
Her Lianne La Havas–Janelle Monáe hybrid voice carries smoothly over lo-fi hip hop production. K.Raydio and jaylap previously collaborated on "Proof," a soothing R&B jam with a hint of edginess that K.Raydio peels back on "Crash." As for Dream Entact, the Atlanta-based artist tells EARMILK that after he heard "Proof" he reached out to K.Raydio and jaylap and "Crash" was born.
K.Raydio comments on the release, saying,
"It's about going down in flames with a smile on your face. I wrote it coming from a place of feeling out-of-control but still wanting to have a good time as the world burns. The song came out of a feeling and created in studio while I listened to the production for the first time with jaylap."
2017 is far from over for these talented artists. K.Raydio has an upcoming date in her hometown this August, and jaylap fans can expect a new project by fall. Stream their latest collaboration with Dream Entact above.
