Jaymes Young wants you to be "Tied Down" to his latest [Premiere]

Jaymes Young recorded most of his debut album Feel Something in his bedroom. Let that sink in while you have a good listen to "Tied Down", the last single off the album before its June 23rd release. Young is still relatively underground, but his album is coming off the heels of tours with London Grammar and Vance Joy, and his singles already have the air and mood of an artist with a serious following and 0ver 20 million streams on Spotify to boot!

"Tied Down" is brooding and sexy, full of rich instrumentation, giving the pop programming an underwater vibe that is both catchy and unique. The thing that makes this single is the nuanced songwriting. Young shows no signs of falling into the bubblegum-pop trap which is so common in the genre. His lyrics are relevant but accessible, and his voice oscillates between crooning and commanding. He sings "so please could I be selfish with your body" and it's like walking into a dimly lit bar and immediately locking eyes with someone across the room. The release of Feel Something will no doubt solidify him as a major player in the pop market in years to come.
