Krewella returns with second single of the month, "Love Outta Me"

For a large swath of readers, I'm sure Krewella is one of (if not the) acts responsible for introducing them to the world of electronic music. Cut back to 2012, when singles "Killin' It" and especially "Alive" were top 40 radio mainstays, and at that time, it seemed the group's trajectory truly had no ceiling. But like all of us, life decided to get in the way. Fast-forward through heavy negotiations with monster record labels and a messy break up with former DJ and best friend, Rain Man, and by 2016, it became easy to write off the group as something of an early EDM anachronism, perhaps the first casualty in the inevitable EDM bubble burst.

Which is why it's so awesome to see that the sisters haven't given up, and now seem like they're in a better place than ever. In 2016 the duo released Ammunition, their first EP without Rain Man, and now, approximately a year later, the girls prepare to release their second EP, New World. And to usher in this new EP, the girls have released two new singles this month, including most recently, "Love Outta Me."

The single is all positive vibes and drips in confidence, while continuing to tie the girls' alluring vocals over ethnic percussion. While not the first time the duo has borrowed Asian-influenced sounds to accent their music, such cultural flares really seem to resonant even more now.  As the duo has stated:

In honor of 6/08/10, the day we decided to quit our side hustle and drop out of school to dedicate ourselves to Krewella full-time, we are releasing an EP called New World on 6/08/17. Through the highs and lows of our career and personal lives, not a day has gone by that we haven't regretted that decision to stay focused and committed to making music.

The new single and the upcoming EP will be distributed through their new independent label, Mixed Kids Records.
