Ah, there is something so satisfying about listening to good mellow indie pop rock music. Last week, I found this single from WEIRDO+CO called "Mother of Pearl" and there's something so comforting and familiar about the song even though it's a fresh take on a well-worn genre.
Released via WEIRDO+CO's new label imprint Virtuous Sound, "Mother of Pearl" encompasses a promising sound that is a solid hint at what the band's live performances may be like. With lyrics such as “Fearing the future is normality, might not be for you, but it is for me” and ironic yet forward-thinking statements such as “No Stevie Nicks and Queen's LPs, No radio, No MP3s, They're giving birth on DMT and every funeral's on MTV”, "Mother of Pearl" is not only sonically inspiring but also lyrically attention-getting as well.
