Since launching his label Mad Zoo in 2014, we've watched Mat Zo explore electronic music that simply cannot be described, well, in a simple manner. Infusing rock, dubstep and drum and bass into his recent tracks, we even see his exploration as a journey throughout his albums Damage Control and Self Assemble. But for those who have been following Zo throughout his entire career, from his work with Anjunabeats, Arty, it's been a while since we've seen him return to his roots in trance music.
Now, Zo is answering those calls from fans, remixing the classic trance track from JX, "Son of a Gun." The original, super 90's dance track, came out in 1994 , charting in the UK Top 10 at its peak. This week, Zo has put his own spin on the original, bringing a hard-hitting drop and retro four on the floor beat to the original. The bootleg is out for free download, and let's be honest, will most likely be in a trance set near you soon.
