Russ enjoys a well earned victory lap on "The Journey"

“Blew up off the web like Peter Parker.”

Russ is back with an upbeat and retrospective new song titled, “The Journey.” The victory lap of a track is a sunny and rosy look at everything the young rapper has gone through on his path to hip hop success.

From lines like, “I got the juice like Barry Bonds” to “my train left the station, but it's a brink's truck now,” Russ is flexing, and for good reason. "The Journey" is a nod to fans and family that have stuck with him from the beginning. And, though there is an air of humble brag, you can tell the guy is genuinely happy about what he has accomplished. Afterall, who wouldn't be with this kind of blossoming career?

While he has seemed to slow down from his previous pace of one new record a week, it’s good to see the Atlanta rapper is still releasing consistent content. And, it seems as though his consistency and work ethic are paying off. Not only is this song one of his best lyrically (the track clocks in at 4:29 sans chorus), but he’s managed to get almost 200k plays within one day of its release. Not bad for a guy with only one Billboard Hot 100 hit.

No word on any full-length projects coming out but you can bet he’ll follow up “The Journey” with another heater soon. Until then, press play above and keep your eyes and ears locked on EARMILK for more Russ.
