Sofia Kourtesis is kicking off your New Year's celebrations early with her take on Me Succeed's "Cool Kids", courtesy of Ki Records. The Berlin-based producer has made appearances on Boiler Room, XLR8R, Fader, as well as a collaboration with Red Bull Music Academy, and is capping off 2016 with this stellar remix.
Opening on quite a jarring note, Kourtesis' rendition begins with sounds of static, skewed vocals and an infectious drum beat that lulls the listener into a trance before glittering synths kick in. The vocals throughout are a sample of Me Succeed's original track, but the producer has sampled her uncle's vocals, which are played backwards throughout. The remix has a cool consistent vibe that will keep you grooving, even in your post-holiday dinner food coma.
