Long known for his disco inspired, heavy bass infused style of house music, Australian producer Pantheon is no stranger to taking tracks deeper than they’ve ever been before. After releasing the dark and sinister “Cursed” earlier this month, Pantheon is back today with his own take on Empire Of The Sun’s “We Are The People,” out on Unknown Records.

From the first beat, Pantheon sets the tone of his remix with a dark, groovy lower end hiding just beneath the track. Rather than destroying the basis of the original, Pantheon molds it to his own style propelled by a driving beat and a house tech disco infusion of percussion, piano chords, and dark synths. The track would feel right at home in a club or in a warehouse, a universality that is hard to achieve and a hallmark of Pantheon’s productions.
