Indie darlings Death Cab For Cutie haven't shied away from political discussion in the past. But they've never been so overt. Their latest one-off single and video aptly titled "Million Dollar Loan" are a most direct jab at Donald Trump and the 2016 Presidential Race.
Ben Gibbard croons of "gold, marble, and soft perfume" and "brutish charm" as the video follows a Trump lookalike through the all too familiar motions. True to Death Cab form, the track delivers a powerful statement while retaining Ben Gibbard's delicate vocals and the band's flawless instrumental work. It's a call to action and a warning – "every ascension to a throne, starts with a million dollar loan".
