Unless you’re a Stepford wife or are an extra in the Truman Show, you’re going to have friends that turn out to actually kind of be shitty people. There are going to be times in your life when just want to rattle that person call them on their shit, incite such a feeling of remorse they never lie again. You’re going to want to, but often you won’t. Alt-rock group Weathers’ song “I Don’t Wanna Know” is an open letter to all those friends. “Writing IDWK was like a group therapy session. We all know some fake people that need a taste of their own shit and the lyrics to this song are our way of calling them out,” said lead vocalist Cameron Boyer.

Today the group shares a stripped down version of the hit single. Pulling away the electronic elements allows the listener to hear the song in a new light. It’s no longer an electro-tinged middle finger to the crappy people in our life more so an earnest and compelling confessional about growing up and moving on.

“Happy Pills” and “I Don’t Wanna Know” are the only songs the band has been released via RCA Records but you can check them out live as they embark on their US tour with Saint Motel. You can find tickets and tour dates here.
