The Pheels are an experimental R&B outfit based out of Atlanta and comprised of members Curtis Fields and Phil Jones. I was initially hipped to the duo through Jones' solo production work as HAUNTED, whose abstract and ethereal soundscapes had me captivated upon first listen. His production work with The Pheels is a bit more scaled back in order to allow for Field's silky vocal harmonics to float around the mix for euphoric effect.

Today the group has officially released their debut LikeWise EP, a 7-track exploration of their world of synth-heavy pop and spaced-out R&B . They are a highly refreshing alternative to the over-machismo of Atlanta's trap scene, instead opting for a much more expressive lane that successfully brings together elements of Neo-Soul, Chillwave, and 70's funk that is ideal for these scenic summer nights. Check out the LikeWise EP above or via Soundcloud, Spotify, & Apple Music!
