Being at the forefront of one of the UK's rowdiest and boundary pushing groups isn't an easy job. The shows and the travelling are some of the funnest parts, but when push comes to shove, sometimes 'making it' is a lot deeper than it seems. As Murkage Dave reflects on his time in the Murkage band, touring across Europe and acquiring a legion of loyal and devoted fans, it's obvious he has some interesting views on the music world. "I was in a band for six years. We got famous in France, made zero cash, and then broke up. Now I have all these stories to tell'

With that being said, Dave releases his debut EP this week, aptly entitled D.A.V.E Part 1. Now, fans of Murkage would be used to seeing Dave jumping around crazily, rapping with an unparalleled passion, but this time around, we get to see an unseen side of the bearded wonder which many of us haven't seen before, his incredible singing voice. Demonstrated on opening track "Car Bomb", we hear his sultry tones cutting through a beautiful guitar driven instrumental. Throughout the project we hear him talk about being down with indie chicks, eating wings on the Turkish border, and the way he feels towards certain people who are moving on a shady motive. The ENTIRE production on D.A.V.E. Part 1 is down to the amazing talents of UsedTo, a fellow Londoner who's been working closely with Dave alongisde his other project, Tonga Balloon Gang, which sees Dave, UsedTo, Klepto DJ, SMITH, Oscarworldpeace and Ragz Originale alongside Mike Skinner, creating the dream team that's been tearing up shows all across Europe this past year or so.

You can stream the incredible debut EP from Murkage Dave, D.A.V.E Part 1, above, and you can peep the visuals for "Car Bomb" below. If you're feeling the project, you can download your copy over on Dave's Bandcamp page!
