If you aren't familiar with Swedish group Astropol, you should be. The group is comprised of Bebban Stenborg from Shout Out Louds, Bjorn Yttling from Peter Bjorn and John, and Smash. Their sound is a blend of dark pop with notes of upbeat indie synth pop. Their single "Make Love Stay" is a catchy earworm that accomplishes a lot without trying too hard. A dancablle repetitive melody allows the lyrics to shine through, making the song all the harder to not play on repeat. Following the release of their album The Spin We're In via INGRID last year, the band shares a crunchy techno remix from Familijen that would make Kraftwerk proud. Electric synths flutter underneath the lyrics which have been kept in their natural state. As the chorus approaches the melody transitions out letting the lines "You can make love leave, but you can't make love stay." A simple line that rings through with such truth. It's a glimmering remix that breathes new life and vibrance into the song. Give Astropol a follow and check out the video for the original below.
