David Nothaker might be new to the music game, but under his alias Notaker, his vision is clear. Though his first official release was technically last year – a track entitled “Oceanview” – it’s this week that he’s making his first real statement. We have a first listen to Notaker’s debut EP entitled as its tracks are named – Dream World Lapse/Monarch/Subweapon – three melodically-focused, authentically progressive ventures into electronic music.

The EP is set for release via progressive and trance leader Jaytech’s Positronic Digital imprint, a label who launched a year ago, but has since proved to be a vehicle to fill a musical void in the community. The lead single, “Dream World Lapse,” is a free flowing layering of dizzying melodies that together become something dark and euphoric at the same time. Monarch is lower tempo, but just as powerful, and “Subweapon” is exactly what it sounds, using a deep and energizing bassline to build a beautiful sunrise track.

Listen to all three tracks below ahead of their release.
