"Funkorama" is one of those classic songs that doesn't need to be remixed. Now turning 20 this year, the combination of Redman spitting truths over self produced crisp boom bap banger (we also have to give props to the extremely underrated Erick Sermon) makes this joint timeless. But what happens when Cookin' Soul, the greatest thing to come out of Spain since La Tomatina, work their magic on this seminal New Jersey record?
The result is a remix that goes toe-to-toe with the original. Cookin' Soul has always been synonymous with creative musical takes and this one has to be one of their best tracks to date (and that's saying a lot if you haven't seen their discography). By making the song a bit more upbeat, they've turned it into a rendition that can stand on its own legs.
