On Planets only recently released his lustrous remix of Pegboard Nerd's "Emoji" and is already back with new material for followers to get excited about. Also known as, Sean Wharton, the Vancouver producer is just beginning to peak into our radars with solid remixes shared on his SoundCloud account. The producer exhibits light and danceable tunes all in all. But as fun the tracks are, On Planet also shows a sophistication in musical diversity through juxtaposition of modern trends with classic instruments (check out the trumpet in his "Weight in Gold" remix).
In his most recent work, On Planets delivers a feel good flip of Drake's "Headlines" featuring sweet vocal work from songstress Emily Warren. The New York-based singer's vocals – whom you may recognize from The Chainsmokers' "Until You Were Gone" – pairs perfectly with On Planets' aesthetic, airy and fresh. The rework is a more innocent spin on Drake's original, complete with bouncy synth work and dance-inducing beats. Described as a "Vancouver interpretation of a Toronto song", the West Coast chilled vibes are obviously present and will make Vancouverites yearn for less rainy days and more sugary summer times. On Planets' remix of the Drake classic is a unique revamp, opaque in pastels and future bass glitz that will catch the attention of many. Listen to the track below.
