If there's a rapper you need to keep an eye on in 2016, it's Nick Grant. I first caught wind of the South Carolina-turned Atlanta based artist after hearing him on Sway in the Morning, but the guy's been making some serious power moves as of late. While he caught some attention with the CyHi the Prynce joint "Royalty," it's the remix that deserves the spotlight. Grant's buttery, lyrical flow fits well with the snappy, soothing instrumental and sets the stage for two of the South's best contemporary acts, Big K.R.I.T and Killer Mike, to do their thing. "Royalty (Remix)," besides being a stellar track, gives us 3 unique perspectives: the young, hungry Grant; the aptly tilted King Remembered In Time who has held the crown for quite some time; and the wise student of the game whose work has transcended hip-hop. Peep the track and keep your eyes peeled for his next project, 88', out on February 2nd. I have a good feeling that Nick Grant will make some waves in 2016.
