Seattle-based producer Qreepz' production descends from the smooth, icy sound pioneered by Blue Sky Black Death, so it's no surprise that one half of that duo, 88 Ultra, is Qreepz' label boss at Ultra Glacial Records. His recent album, Séance, combined these placid tracks with beats that had more violent tendencies, and the title track is an example of the latter.
The "Séance" visuals, directed by Steven Trueba, depict Qreepz in a circle of chalk, candles, and mannequin limbs, with chaotic camera work and computer effects galore. It's about all you could want from a track that combines hip-hop, witch, and bass music so cohesively.
Qreepz is teaming up with Trueba again on the video for album standout "Wednesday," featuring Yes Alexander. Stay tuned for that and watch the "Séance" video below.
