The last time we heard from Bostonian rhymer Latrell James was when he dropped Twelve, his intimate and highly lauded album that sent shockwaves through Beantown and underground speakers/earbuds on both coasts. Today, Latrell comes out of the woodwork to bless us with "The Mentality." Peep out the EARMILK premiere of said banger below and ride the wave!

James' latest record is indeed wavy like your grandma's chicken gravy. The slowed-down, catchy tune features a hypnotic chorus and flow that puts your head on a swivel; then, just as the dust settles, he flips the script and transitions into a more thoughtful lyrical onslaught with an expedited cadence. It's the maraschino cherry on a deceptively layered track that can hold its own on any playlist–whether you're end-of-the-week turn-upping or end-of-the-weekend turn-downing, "The Mentality" deserves steady rotation.
