Curren$y continues to prep for his second official studio album, Canal Street Confidential, with the release of a brand new video, "Superstar." Although the New Orleans rapper has been a fixture in the game since 2002, it is mind boggling to think that this forthcoming project will only be his sophomore studio full length. Spitta has dropped an incredible amount of mixtapes or records every year since 2006, becoming one of the marquee acts in hip-hop. The fact that he could go nearly five years between studio albums is a testament to his stature, and proves the title of his latest single true.

"Superstar" features Curren$y rapping alongside the illustrious Ty Dolla $ign, who just liberated his own debut album, Free TC, to widespread acclaim. The song is about the flashy lifestyle and seductiveness that comes with success in the rap game. It is all about wooing the ladies and making men respectfully hate on you. The accompanying video demonstrates this motif admirably, with a number of beautiful women dancing and smoking in front of rare cars. At the same time, Spitta and Ty are seen smoking and living a carefree life, just having fun. It appears as a representation of their fantasy everyday, where record booths and deadlines do not exist.
Canal Street Confidential is set to release on Friday, December 4. Curren$y has leaked a number of songs already, and all have been solid so far. This bodes well for the project, but in the meantime, check out the "Superstar" video above.
