Ever since remixing The Chainsmokers’ “Let It Go”, Steve James rose up quickly enough to get him picked up as a supporting act on their “Friendzone Tour”. More than 3 months after his silence, he reworked another track that might just be his next milestone. So let’s get excited for his new remix of The Weeknd’s special edition hit record, “Earned It.”
After UK’s leading cover artist, Jasmine Thompson, took “Earned It” and released her own version, it peaked at #3 on Billboard’s Top 100 Chart and was the soundtrack to the movie “Fifty Shades of Grey”. #TeamJames was then contacted by Atlantic Records for an official remix of the cover. Steve expressed his shift from energetic dance anthems to smooth and beautiful down-tempo progressive, and took Thompson’s voice to new heights with heavenly piano chords and used her voice as the driving instrument. Be on the lookout as this is only the first in his new line of releases to drop before the end of 2015.
