Face it: you've most likely "forgot" about someone when they needed you the most. Now that they've got some attention, do you rekindle that friendship in an attempt to ride their coattails or talk smack about them to bring them down to your level? The "back then they didn't wan't me, now I'm hot, they all on me" (first made public by the great Southern philosopher Mike Jones) mentality that many of us, consciously or unconsciously, operate on has always been a tricky subject to talk about, but I'm glad that KYLE was able to get to the heart of the matter with his latest track, "Remember Me?" Whereas the young Californian looks back at jilted lovers and those who left him high and dry before he dropped his breakout hit, "Keep It Real" (oddly enough, EARMILK got the opportunity to premiere the track,) Chance the Rapper delivers a moody hook that'll stick with you for weeks to come. Over a somber, low key beat, these two artists are quick to dismiss the fakes and frauds around them in support of those who will be by their side regardless of the money and fame.
Check the track out and cop KYLE's upcoming project, Smyle, when it drops on Friday. As a friendly PSA, support those people who truly deserve to be heard. In this day and age, you never know who'll blow up and become a household name.
