Deorro's latest is already seeing success as it sits comfortably in the top half of the Progressive House Charts on Beatport. While the West Covina-based producer can usually be found creating festival-sized, energetic electro anthems, his latest single, "I Can Be Somebody," is in a different vein.
Posed as the lead single from the soundtrack to the controversial Zac Efron-starring We Are Your Friends, "I Can Be Somebody" delivers the uplifting and inspiring message that the movie intends, led by vocals from Erin McCarley. A track aimed at being inspirational, "I Can Be Somebody" also reflects pop music's influence on dance music, and their inevitable fusion. Check it out below.
