Well, what a great couple of years it's been for UK rap music. It feels like we're finally getting some form of recognition from our American counterparts, not that we particularly needed the validation. Over the last 2 years or so, it seems that more rap fans from the US are listening to the hip hop music coming from our fine shores, and it's nothing but a good thing for rap music on the whole. That being said, it's my pleasure to bring another slick joint form a British rapper, with the formidable Jay Prince dropping some new magic on us.
After his track "Polariods", premiered here on EARMILK last summer, has racked up almost 750,000 plays, the young English wordsmith is back with a new jam, the aptly named "Take Your Time". Backed by his homie and Soulection label-mate IAMNOBODI on the boards, delivering an airy, laid back yet bumpin' instrumental, Prince cuts through the beat with supreme ease and style. His flow is tight, and his wordplay is equally as relaxed, with some nice hooks thrown in for good measure. This jam is definitely for those relaxing sunny days!
