There’s always been something special about the music of San Francisco. Today, an up and coming SF based DJ duo 219 Boys, comprised of Elric Weibel and Scott Holland, release their West Side EP on Nite Records after winning Insomniac’s Discovery Project and earning a chance to play at Escape: All Hallow’s Eve, which is no small feat. The three track EP features Bay Area influenced bass and house.
The last track, “Sundown,” sets the tone with a crisp percussion and a bouncing beat. Understated, falling synth melodies make the perfect backdrop for the toned down, eerie vocals of the track. When the bass line finally kicks in, it becomes clear that this track is something special and would feel right at home on the dancefloor.
