Point Point is a French (future) electronic group made up of Aazar, Devoted to God, L’homme aux 4 lettres, and Nomak—all of whom have established their own solo careers (Devoted to God and Nomak also make up Alesia). Last month they released the highly anticipated Filet Mignon III compilation, a showcase for emerging talent worth watching for.
Now, they present the first single, “You Will Never Know” of their first collective EP, titled Contrastive Focus Reduplication. They lead us in with glittering synths and then bring punches of drums and woodblock chucks, twisted by indiscernibly warped vox samples. As the song unwinds with whistles and claps, we kick back with feelings of ease and satisfaction.
Point Point’s EP comes out June 23rd on Record Record and will consist of five tracks, including this single, their first hit, “Life in Grey,” and a feature from frequent collaborator, San Holo.
