When our friends at Lazerdisk first introduced us to Big Wild's "Venice Venture", I was blown away. The melodic instrumentals and beach-easy vibes instantly turned my bedroom into a peaceful sandy oasis. Since then, Jackson Stell has not only become one of our very good friends, but a huge success as a touring artist and live musician.

Last month, he supported ODESZA on their Winter Tour. They immediately signed him to their Foreign Family Collective as a result of his hard work and dedication. “We are very excited to welcome Big Wild to the Foreign Family Collective,” says ODESZA’s Clayton Knight. “Big Wild brings a unique style and flavor to everything he touches.”

We talked to Jackson about his plans for the future.

Where do you see your musical direction going in the next year?
I have no idea haha. That's why I'm so excited for this year. I do want to collaborate with other artists more, especially singers. Using more unique and organic sounds is another goal of mine too.
Who are you excited to work with in the near future?
I would love to do a track with Andersen.Paak or Nao. Both are unique artists whose vibe I'm really into at the moment. I have a whole list of producers I'm working to collaborate with but I'm going to keep those secret
How was the recent tour with ODESZA?
The ODESZA tour was awesome, eye opening, and so much fun. I gained a lot of experience playing to large crowds and learned a lot from the guys about making a great live show for fans. It was really inspirational to say the least.

Big Wild is currently on a 25+ date tour with Kodak to Graph, and has a litany of original music and remixes lined up for release. Today marks the release of his remix and video for Champagne Drip's "Champagne Drip Theme (Big Wild Remix)". The tune is a flawless followup to "Venice Venture", playing up many of the same West Coast beach vibes of the former. We'll save the verbal embellishment and let you take a listen. One thing is certain, however—Big Wild is one of the best up & coming live musicians in the game, and deserves everything good coming his way.
