Further to being hailed as "Future Sound of 2015" by BBC Radio One's Zane Lowe, announcing a performance at SXSW 2015, and releasing his When The Darkness Comes EP via The Telegraph, Island Records signee JP Cooper unveils the visual for "Closer". A track about the desire to spend more time with his son, JP's evocative lyricism has pulled at the heart strings of its listeners; most of all director, Drew Cox, whose interpretation of the song speaks on the topics of mental health, the loss of a child, and the need for communication.

Starring Nicholas Pinnock (Fortitude, Captain America), the video will be adapted into a short film, which will feature the When The Darkness Comes EP as its soundtrack. The male lead is shown in turmoil after the loss of his son at child-birth; struggling with reality, and exhibiting signs of severe internal struggle. Hard-hitting, and truly touching, the "Closer" video portrays the issue of supressed male emotion, and JP has asked that viewers are made aware of CALM, a charity which he supports in its ability to raise awareness of male mental health; and the need to ask for help.
JP Cooper is an artist who understands how to use music as not only a form of expression; but, a release of true emotion – for both himself and the listener.
