The self-proclaimed "Indigo Child" is back with a new musical, racially charged offering in the form of "Fly". In response to the current turmoil that is encompassing the US, Raury has released an ode to the recent victims of police confrontations that have resulted in heavily controversial deaths.
The message that the Columbia artist seems to emphasize with this is that even though a great amount of sadness in the wake of these deaths, we can all find a little bit of hope and happiness in the thought that the victims of these killings are in a better place than before. Malik Shakur, the relative of Assata Shakur, speaks about his hopes for the future of his offspring on the tail end of the track, adding a special kick to the entire piece.
Stream "Fly" below and like Raury says, let us try and "fly above the things that make humanity divide."
