Norwegian electronic duo Royksopp are ending 2014 in a big way: receiving Grammy nods for their mini-album, Do It Again, alongside Robyn with a nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album of 2014, and releasing their final album-formatted release in the critically acclaimed The Inevitable End in November, and now, releasing the remixed portion of that last album endeavor and announcing plans to release more music in early 2015. We've seen some remixes from the collection of The Inevitable End's offerings pop up online: from Maceo Plex, Fehrplay and others. Today, we have a special first listen to the next remix of "Sordid Affair," this time from French producer Watermät. We were first introduced to Watermät ahead of his mysterious release "Bullit," and now that we know more about his music, it's easy to approach his work with high expectations. With his remix of "Sordid Affair," the atmospheric approach he's taken has translated into something that meets those high expectations: glittering progression and wandering synths that all culminate in a soothing experience.
