With the release of King Push on the horizon, Pusha T is definitely the one to watch right now. And for good reason: his brash, lyricism and past collaborations with G.O.O.D Music head Kanye West have resulted in some of the most successful tracks of the Clipse member's career. He's one of the few acts out there that hasn't lost his relevancy in this uber-competitive space, mainly due to his penchant for consistency. While "Lunch Money" felt underwhelming upon first listen, I found myself enjoying it after a few playthroughs and reflections.
Besides Pusha's bars, what's most enjoyable about the video is how polarizing the final product is. The video for "Lunch Money" manages to capture the antics of a group of performers–most notably, a number of dancers moving fluidly throughout the video– in a well crafted, surveillance-meets-found-footage style. Much like Ye's experimental, sparse drum sounding beat, the off-the-walls nature of the visuals pair well with the street bravado of the My Name Is My Name rhymer. Will Pusha manage to push past the success and break new ground with his next project? Only time will tell, but we feel that the Pusha man can do no wrong.
