Coming out of St Louis, via way of St Petersburg, Florida, Chester Watson has seen his stock rise considerably over the past couple of years. With his keen ear for an off-edge beat, and some of the best vocal delivery I've heard from someone of his age (he's still only 18!), Watson has become one of the highest regarded and the underground rap scene's best kept secrets. Accompanied by the rest of his Nu Age clique, they have set about turning the hip hop game on it's head.
Earlier this year he released his highly anticipated album Tin Wooki, which received massive props from fans and critics alike. Since then, Chester has spent more time behind the boards than on the mic, but fear not, as this week we've been treated to some new music! Whilst it's only a short snippet of what Chester's holding back, "Fantastic" shows that he's still keeping his almost signature sound with an offset instrumental providing the perfect canvas for him to paint with his words. Again, Watson demonstrates his sublime wordplay and his slick flow which rides across the beat effortlessly. All we can hope for now is that Watson brings out a track with more length, or even better, a new project!
