We have a bit of a cross-continental collaboration on our hands today, fueled by the Los Angeles label Perfect Driver and the English artists Aaron Snapes and Jay Robinson. Snapes, who has been a fixture on the West Coast imprint since its start in 2012, has also made strong appearances on venerated outlets, like Cr2, BBC's Radio 1, and dirtybird. Today he returns to Perfect Driver for his On It EP, featuring a total of five tracks broken into two originals and three remixes. Of course, we have Snapes' "On It" followed by "Know You Better", then rounded off by "On It" remakes courtesy of Treasure Fingers, Eyes Everywhere, and Jay Robinson.
Though a lot of the original shines through in Robinson's remix, the Welsh artist adds fuel to the fire by blending chopped vocals and melodies over the track's course while simultaneously slipping in slightly more prominent drum work. Whether you fell in love with the originals or were swayed by the remixes, Jay Robinson definitely holds his own on this standout Aaron Snapes release.
