Over the past four years, London based producers, The Writers Block, have been making a name for themselves, with support from the likes of Radio 1, 1Xtra and Capital Extra and released “Dancing In The Dark” earlier this year to great success. This month, they are back with the release of their debut single on Ultra Music, “Don’t Look Any Further,” out December 14th, and this week UK based Ganzfeld Effect, who’s name is a scientific phenomenon for perceptual deprivation, picks up remix duties on this soulful, deep track.
Right from the beginning, Ganzfeld Effect gets the track going by cranking up the tempo a bit and giving it a more driving beat, but keeping true to the original, Ganzfeld Effect preserves the synth chords to help anchor the track, while subbing in a beautiful saxophone melody for the electronic melody of the original, giving the track a jazzier, soulful feel than the original. The addition of the saxophone is the true gem of this remix; it fits in seamlessly and gives the track this immense depth in which to intertwine the two vocalists’ lyrics. This is one deep remix that truly must not be missed.
