Latest collaboration "Benjamin's" from Australia based vocalist CVIRO and producer GXNXVS just premiered Monday and already looks to be a beauty. Doesn't everyone just want love? And a nice slow jam that puts you in the mood in just three minutes? CVIRO channels famous R&B soul singers of the past in a blend of modern nostalgia, while GXNXVS backs it up with 80's drum machines, muted keys and on point finger snaps.
"Benjamin's" is the first track from an upcoming five track EP due out on October Records. It's intriguingly deceptive and on first listen you would think it was just a love croon, but there are some darker themes underneath the soothing vocals and instrumentation. Sometimes it's all about the Benjamin's -not love or trust- in the dating scene of today. CVIRO laments about how he can't deny a love interest three course dinners, but wishes it was real. And who could deny anyone that?
