ICONS Music, the Swedish dance music label that has recently churned out hits by none other than fan-favorites Deorro and Cazzette, also has a knack for nurturing up-and-coming artists. Spencer Brown comes to us as one such talent, so far having proven himself time and again with high quality releases on venerated labels, like Le7els, and tour support for the label's founder himself, Avicii. Adding to this, just two months ago the young American producer hopped on the decks to spin the guest mix for one of the most listened to radio shows in all of electronic, Above & Beyond's Group Therapy, which coincided with his remix of "The Dark" on their famed Anjunabeats imprint.
Funny enough, Spencer Brown chose to begin those 30 minutes of fame with today's track, "Mirek", releasing via ICONS on November 24th. Though there's still a strong sense of progressive in the work that takes a listener back to "Chalice", "Mirek" deviates from this course with a refined drop that relies less on bass and more on a revolving hollow piano melody. The track will be joined by "Jaboom" on next week's EP, and serves as a testament to Spencer Brown's ever-growing talent.
