Paris-based electronic artist Allure (aka Lorris Piasco) is back at it again with his shimmering, French-style electro pop on "Why." Allure has been cooking up infectious yet funky tracks for a while now, but dropped off the map for a few months after releasing his Signature EP and a dancefloor-ready remix of Janet Jackson's "Can't B Good" earlier this year. On "Why," he adds his falsetto vocals to a synthed out funk beat to concoct an ear treat.
Allure's influences, including Daft Punk, Justice, Michael Jackson and Prince, are evident from the very beginning, as a dance pop beat and electric guitar riffs come in. They become even more clear as Piasco vocalizes over the beat, whimpering. "I don't know why." An infectious synth line bounces back and forth, invading the listener's mind and instantly latching on, before the song goes on to deliver more funky pop goodness. We hope to see more from Allure soon. If you're lucky enough to live in Paris, you can check him out live at the Nouveau Casino on November 22.
