Richard Andrew, a.k.a. Outasight, is a New York based artist who has a unique approach to hip-hop. Take his last album Stay Gold, for example. He has a recipe for fusing aspects hip-hop, elements of pop, and small doses of dance to form catchy tunes for your day to day hustle and bustle (think Shwayze).
Outasight was once signed with Warner Bros., but now he is pursuing his career with no strings attached. He has been slowly but surely re-branding and re-imagining himself as a indie artist. Up until recently, he has been lurking in the shadows. With a good number of fans waiting for what his next move might be, you can say the anticipation for his next full-length release is quite tangible. It was only until three months ago that we saw any activity or clues to what Outasight has been up to. From the two singles he dropped, it seems he has taken a darker, more passionate route compared to his feel-good and poppish album Stay Gold.
Today, we give you that first finger lick of his latest track called "Automatic". This particular tune is more partial to his hip-hop roots, though there is a good serving of pop mixed into the layers which gives it that radio-friendly spin. The minimal effects and the steady beat in the background gives the tune a quirky personality making "Automatic" an ear grabber for sure. Be sure to catch yourself up with Outasight with Stay Gold to really understand his flexibility in styles.
